Classic Mint Julep
Southern Tradition in a Silver Cup
The Mint Julep is the signature cocktail of the South and a Masters weekend essential. Served icy cold, it’s refreshing, bold, and steeped in heritage.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz bourbon
- 8-10 mint leaves (plus sprig for garnish)
- 0.5 oz simple syrup
- Crushed ice
Instructions:
- In a julep cup or rocks glass, muddle mint leaves with simple syrup.
- Add bourbon.
- Fill the glass with crushed ice and stir until the outside of the glass frosts.
- Top with more crushed ice and garnish with a mint sprig.
Serving Tip: Traditionally served in a silver or pewter cup, the colder the better.
